On Sunday 12th August 07 we opened the gardens for a Charity Fund Raising Day in aid of the Ballymacool Respite Care Comfort Fund.
Despite the atrocious weather over 3,500 people attended.
It was a great day with fantastic live music, kindly provided by so many talented musicians.
There were games, a BBQ, face painting, garden & nature tours and of course many, many train rides.

Everyone at Oakfield Park had worked tirelessly in the weeks beforehand and the gardens looked at their absolute best.
The day itself could not have taken place without all the volunteers who gave up their Sunday afternoon to help us and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank everybody involved.

We were delighted to be able to round the final total up and present Ballymacool with a cheque for an amazing €25,000.
